There’s summer dressing, there’s fall dressing, and then there’s this: the in-between, transitional dressing that usually sprouts up on the streets of New York City in September, but that this year, has continued firmly into autumn. And if you, too, are struggling to deal with the steamy warm weather we’re still having here on the East Coast, may we suggest taking a page from Sydney Sweeney’s handbook?

Heading to the Corner Store in New York City for dinner last night, the Euphoria actor was photographed in a look that mixed and matched seasonal pieces. On top, she wore a lightweight cropped button-down jacket in a gray-blue hue, with a boxy silhouette and elongated sleeves. She kept the piece buttoned, but a white tee peaked out from under the no-collar collar, dressing down the blazer-style outerwear just a bit.

For bottoms, she contrasted the loose fit of her top with skintight brown micro shorts, which she wore over transparent black tights for just the right amount of coverage on a not-so-chilly October night.
Sweeney’s accessories, too, found a perfect marriage between seasons. She kept her hands toasty with chocolate-brown leather gloves and added knee-high leather boots that felt strictly autumnal, but finished things off with a pair of little rectangular sunglasses that would have fit right into our wardrobes this past summer.

The star left her long blonde hair down in natural waves, and grabbed her understated, compact bowling bag from the Row: a black leather offering with an east-west silhouette and extended tubular handles.
