Pedro Pascal Looks More Suave Than Ever in Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel

On Monday evening, Matthieu Blazy held his latest presentation for Chanel—one of the most-anticipated runway shows of Paris Fashion Week. In a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar backstage, Blazy explained that after picking up his nephew from school and seeing the variety of touchpoints that inspire young people and their fashion today, he decided to marry inspirations and references from over the decades. Thus, a bag once belonging to Coco Chanel was presented alongside very of-the-moment naked dresses. Corsets and voluminous petticoats were followed by disco-inspired sequins and pop art patterns. And Britney Spears’s 2007 Blackout song “Gimme More” soundtracked the finale.

As it was one of the biggest shows of the season, it was no surprise to see an equally impressive front row. Stars like Nicole Kidman, Ayo Edebiri, Dua Lipa, and Kristen Wiig were all in attendance (and all outfitted just as beautifully). But on a day dedicated to womenswear, a moment of appreciation is due for Pedro Pascal, who brought his usual charm to the occasion, and continued his strong Chanel streak.

At the show, Pascal looked effortlessly suave in a long, brassy tweed coat that was belted over a black turtleneck, slacks, and patent-leather Oxfords. The buttoned-up look was all very sophisticated, but there was still that dash of Blazy playfulness thanks to a set of bright-orange buttons that decorated the front of the coat.

This moment occurred mere days after Pascal stepped out at the 64th annual New York Film Festival, also in Chanel.

To promote his new film, Behemoth!, Pascal walked the red carpet in a custom ensemble from the French fashion house, including a blue, pinstripe dress shirt with a stark white collar and cuffs, paired with a silk tie and cream vest to match. Like ’80s Wall Street, done the Chanel way.

The look was rounded out with a pair of khaki slacks and black-and-white croc-skin loafers, with the Chanel double C logo dotting into the toes. And on the back, there was one final twist, as the vest transformed into a burgundy lattice-like fabric with a gold-buckle belt detail.

Over the past few months, Pascal—with the help of his stylist, Jamie Mizrahi—has been embracing the brand more and more. There was the breezy white look with a striped sweater draped casually over his shoulders that he wore to the house’s haute couture show this past July. And he embraced the layering craze in a color-block Chanel look at a United Kingdom fan event for Star Wars: The Mandalorian And Grogu back in May.

Pascal may just be the perfect muse for Blazy’s Chanel.
