Sarah Jessica Parker has been serving up curly and blond hair inspiration for decades. But it’s the hairstyle she wore to the New York City Ballet 2026 Fall Fashion Gala last night that is going right to the top of our beauty vision boards this fall.
Parker attended last night’s gala with her husband Matthew Broderick, wearing a floral Simone Rocha gown accentuated with silk pink ribbons. That soft, romantic feeling was also brought into Parker’s hair, which was woven into the most jaw-dropping, extra-long, ribbon-tied Rapunzel braid that highlighted her expertly blond-and-gray-blended hair color.

The hairstyle is likely the work of Serge Normant, Parker’s longtime hairstylist. Hair extensions in Parker’s exact shade of dimensional blond were added for dramatic length, but our favorite detail is the two face-framing pieces of gray around her temples.

“Gray blending” is a hot topic of conversation in haircare spaces right now, especially for women over 50. Essentially, it’s the technique of softly incorporating gray hair into your existing color, giving you an easy path toward going fully gray in style. Parker’s hair is an absolute masterclass in how important depth, tone variation, and strategically placed color are in making your hair look lush and expensive at any age. Her two gray sections are bright and shiny, reading like intentional highlights that brighten her face. Those sections then fall into her darker roots and warmer blond ombré as you travel down toward her ends.
If nothing else, let Parker’s Rapunzel braid be a reminder of one very important thing: there’s no expiration date on having fun with your hair.
