Jeremy Strong may be best known for his intense, cutthroat performances as Kendall Roy in Succession and, most recently, as Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Reckoning, but off the screen, he’s a family man who has been happily married to his wife, Emma Wall, for a decade.
The couple first met at a party in 2012 and married four years later at a castle in Denmark, before welcoming three daughters. Despite Strong’s penchant for method acting, his wife has said he’s able to keep his work and family life separate. When asked by The New Yorker in 2021 if her husband’s role as Kendall Roy made him act any differently at home, Wall explained, “He does a really good job of maintaining what he’s doing but also creating a space for the family and a normal life.”
Strong, however, acknowledged that balancing his Succession persona with his role as a husband and father was a challenge. “It does make me feel like I’m living a double life,” he said at the time.
Wall has an impressive career of her own, and the couple juggles their time between the U.S. and Denmark while raising their daughters. Ahead, everything to know about Emma Wall and her marriage to The Social Reckoning star.

Born and raised in Denmark, Wall began her career as a child psychiatrist. She earned her B.A. from Brown University before attending Oxford Medical School, where she graduated with honors. She went on to complete residencies at Columbia University and Cornell University before working at UCLA and in the U.S. foster care system. Her work has also taken her abroad, where she has volunteered with refugees in Greece, India, and South Africa.
She’s also a documentary filmmaker.

Following her work as a child psychiatrist, Wall turned her attention to documentary filmmaking, co-founding Guest House Productions, an independent production company focused on stories of social justice and humanity. Through the company, she co-directed Guerrilla Habeas, which follows a group of lawyers challenging ICE on behalf of immigrants facing deportation. Executive produced by Trevor Noah, the documentary premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in 2022 before airing in 2023 as part of MSNBC’s The Turning Point documentary series.
Wall has said her experience working with children, along with the immigration policies enacted under the Trump administration, inspired the film. “We started on this film at a time when I think so many of us were really appalled by what was happening in the immigration system,” she told Deadline in 2022. “So we started this in the beginning of 2019, following the Muslim ban, following Trump’s zero-tolerance policy that was separating families at the border. And we — as so many people, I think, in this country — were feeling incredibly helpless and hopeless. It felt like these grave injustices, these human rights violations, and we didn’t know what to do about it.”

Strong and Wall first met at a party in New York in 2012, during Hurricane Sandy. Four years later, they married at Dragsholm Slot, an 800-year-old castle in Zealand, Denmark. The centuries-old estate, with its sweeping hilly grounds and vineyards, is home to a luxury hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant, making for a picturesque wedding backdrop.
They split their time between the U.S. and Denmark.
Wall, who is originally from Denmark, and Strong, who grew up in Boston, divide their time between the U.S. and Denmark. In the States, the family lives in Brooklyn, New York, while their Danish homes include a place in Copenhagen and a summer house in the seaside town of Tisvilde.
For Strong, Denmark has become something of a refuge from the intensity of his Hollywood career. In a 2021 interview with The New Yorker, he spoke about the sense of calm he finds at their Tisvilde home. “I don’t feel stress there,” he said. “I don’t feel colonized by all the wanting and needing. If I’m in L.A. or New York, I feel so encumbered by the weight of the profession that I’m in. And ambition.”

He shared a similar sentiment with The Guardian that same year, describing Denmark as “a very sane and gentle place.” “It feels like a refuge for me, and it’s great to have somewhere that’s a docking station after all this work, which I find very enervating and scary and stressful,” he said.
They have three children together.
Strong and Wall share three daughters, whom they have largely kept out of the public eye. In a 2019 interview with GQ, Strong opened up about how becoming a father changed him. “My life has changed a lot in the sense that there’s some sort of stable center,” he said. “I never had that before—I was always just kind of a transient and work was the only thing. And that feels different now, in a very good way. There’s something to come home to.”
Their eldest daughter, Ingrid, was born in Copenhagen in April 2018, shortly after the actor filmed the first season of Succession. A little over a year later, in November 2019, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Clara. In September 2021, they welcomed their third daughter, whose name they have not publicly shared.

Wall has been a steadfast presence throughout Strong’s career, joining him for red carpet premieres, award shows, and industry events over the years. Together, they’ve made red-carpet appearances everywhere from the Met Gala and Golden Globes to the Tony Awards, Emmys, and BAFTAs—and, of course, a Succession premiere or two along the way.
Most recently, on October 4, Wall joined Strong at the New York premiere of his latest film, The Social Reckoning.
